Abbie and Ross’s engagement session at Belmont University in Nashville felt effortlessly romantic from start to finish. Belmont’s historic architecture, classic columns, and quiet garden spaces always create a beautiful setting for engagement photos, and it was the perfect backdrop for their session.
We started with a more relaxed look — denim, boots, and Ross’s signature cowboy hat — which gave the first part of the session a laid-back, personal feel. Belmont’s tree-lined walkways and garden spaces made it easy to capture those candid moments between them: quiet hugs, laughter, and the kind of natural connection that makes engagement sessions feel authentic.
For the second half of the session, Abbie changed into an elegant off-the-shoulder white dress while Ross switched to a tailored blazer. The shift in wardrobe paired perfectly with Belmont’s iconic architecture, bringing a more editorial and timeless feel to the photos. The white columns, brick walkways, and historic buildings around campus created such a beautiful contrast with the softness of their portraits.
One of my favorite things about engagement sessions is getting to see couples relax in front of the camera. By the end of the evening, Abbie and Ross were completely comfortable, laughing together and moving naturally through each location we explored on campus.
I’m already looking forward to photographing their October 2026 wedding, and if their engagement session is any indication, it’s going to be a beautiful day!
